Interested in Becoming a Pilates Teacher?

Founded in 1992 by Doctor of Physical Therapy Brent Anderson, Polestar is an international authority in Pilates education, focused on whole body wellness, healing through movement modalities and mind-body-spirit connectivity. Their mission is to shape world health by making whole body fitness available to everyone, with science-based techniques, intelligent movement and the uniform development of muscles, resulting in complete mastery of body and mind.

Today Polestar is comprised of an international community of highly-trained Pilates professionals who seek to impact world health. Polestar has Pilates instructor representation in over 50 countries, and education centers located in nearly 40 countries. As Pilates grows as a method, they provide excellent and thorough education of all Polestar Pilates instructors, producing the finest Pilates professionals in the world.

Designed by a physical therapist, the Polestar curriculum is designed to ensure that the student will graduate with effective assessment skills, good communication, and a knowledge of exercise planning that is strongly based on scientific research and a foundation of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, motor control, bioenergetics, and neurolinguistics.

There are many different Pilates training schools to choose from.  What sets Polestar apart is the emphasis on the “why” not just the “what”. Anyone can learn to do an exercise, but truly understanding the rationale, or the “why” behind what you choose to teach will make you a more effective Pilates Practitioner.

Graduates of Polestar Comprehensive training will be well prepared to design and effectively implement Pilates programs specifically to progress the individuals in front of them.  This will be done using the Polestar Fitness Screening tool along with problem solving skills that are sharpened during the program. This focus on the rationale of the Pilates program implementation will create a transformative experience for the patients and clients of a Polestar Pilates Practitioner.

Master over 130 Pilates exercises across a full spectrum of apparatuses, including Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and props. By learning a comprehensive repertoire of movement techniques, you can continuously provide and refresh your clients with goal-oriented movement experiences.
